This painting tells the story of a woman who lives by her own rules, embodying grace and elegance despite the chaos that follows in her wake.
She was a princess. In her own mind. Beautiful, graceful, elegant. The rules of the world did not apply to her—they were for others who needed help managing their lives.
Her husband adored her, showering her with gifts: designer clothes, fine jewelry, world travel, and luxury cars. Yet, despite his efforts, calamity followed her every move. The first car was destroyed in an accident; he replaced it with another, even more lavish. Within days, it too was gone. Two more cars met similar fates, each more extravagant than the last. “My princess,” he finally said, “please consider the traffic rules.” She smiled and replied, “The rules are for others. Everything will be fine when they stay out of my way.”
Now, she travels by skateboard, gliding gracefully on an island in the middle of a lily pond. Still beautiful, still elegant, and still a princess. In her own mind.
