Exciting news—my paintings from the Vermont Studio Center have arrived back at my studio! Anyone who’s ever shipped artwork knows the anxiety that comes with the process, so having them here safely is definitely worth celebrating.
The canvases unrolled perfectly, and now comes the fun part—re-stretching them and diving back into the work. While the paintings were away, my thoughts kept circling back to a few changes I’ve been wanting to make. There’s something about the passage of time that gives you fresh eyes on your own work, and I’m excited to approach these pieces with new ideas. One thing’s for sure—there’s going to be a lot less red! I’ve been mentally editing this color for weeks, and it’s time to see where that takes me. (Though, full disclosure: I’m still figuring out what that will actually look like!)
It feels great to reconnect with these paintings. Sometimes stepping away from a piece allows you to see its potential more clearly and consider new directions. I’m eager to see how these changes evolve and where this journey takes the work next.
It’s time to roll up my sleeves and dive back in! Stay tuned for more updates as these paintings continue to develop. Can’t wait to share the results
